"Pareu" is the Tahitian word for a lightweight printed fabric that was first imported into Polynesia by the French during the early 1800s. During the 1930s, the motifs and colors of the pareu began to influence prints being used in Hawaii for Aloha shirts. This midcentury-inspired pareu features the flower of the sandalwood tree, a native Big Island tree that is highly prized for its fragrant wood. Printed on a 4-way-stretch performance fabric that is lightweight and moisture-wicking, this version of the pareu is perfect not only for dinner and drinks, but also for golf, biking, and hiking trips.
