Continuing their working partnership, Converse are back with another collaboration designed by A-COLD-WALL*. The Britishlabel was founded by Samuel Ross, whose background began initially in graphic design but has evolved into a fully fledged fashion brand.
Re-working the late-'80s chunky silhouette of the Converse Weapon, A-COLD-WALL* brings a contemporary spin with their signature brutalist design language. The uppers feature a base of crinkled nylon which mirrors the technical detailing on A-C-W* apparel whilst soft suede overlays provide a natural contrast to the synthetic material.
A reduced lace system, refined to a bare minimum of crossovers—resembling a factory-laced pair of sneakers—further minimises the visual noise of the design. Smokey-grey translucent rubber finishes the shoe, providing a way to lighten the chunky midsole through its ability to allow light through ever-so-slightly.
